GAP Group

The bodies mounted onto Volvo chassis are the latest design from Sterling and benefit from a host of new features designed to keep the operators both safe and efficient whilst extending the component life and reducing running costs.

These features include the Sterling Megawedge ramp system. This is the most advanced fold forward Cheeswedge ramp system available to plant hirers today. Its sleek streamlined design offers incredible reduction in drag when compared with traditional upright ramp systems offering considerable fuel savings whilst reducing CO2 footprint.

Other safety features include the LED deck lighting system which gives clear demarcation of the edge of the deck for loading at night. In addition it provides other road users with a visual illumination of the vehicle greatly reducing risks of loading on public roads after dark.

An out rigging guardrail system provides edge protection for the operator when on the deck and extends out to give additional width when loading wide machines.

The vehicle is fully compliant to the latest requirements of main contractors such as Crossrail, with camera systems, cyclist warning systems and turn left warning systems.

The two vehicles have been delivered fully sign written to the Kilmarnock GAP depot where they have been very favourably received.

Bobby Allan Transport Manager for GAP Group said: “Sterling have done a good job for GAP, they offer an excellent product, backed up by knowledgeable and professional staff who are easy to deal with and took time to understand our needs”.
