Mr Plant Hire

Published on: 15th September 2022

One of London’s leading independent plant hire companies, Mr Plant Hire, has taken delivery of a new Sterling 32T Plant body fitted to a Renault Trucks C430 8×2 tag. This new vehicle has been selected as the company’s flagship vehicle and to showcase its new and refreshed branding.

“Our latest addition to the fleet is the first in our company’s new branding, which our new MD Steven King has brought in to freshen things up, and it looks great! The new C430 has been on the road for a few weeks and our driver Perry is delighted with it, he’s out cleaning it every day, it’s his pride and joy,” explains Oliver Simson, Transport Manager at Mr Plant Hire.

The new Range C430 8×2 tag with Sterling beavertail body has Mr Plant Hire’s striking new dark blue and yellow livery, Lightfix 6 spot lightbar and twin air horns. It is powered by Renault Trucks’ 11 litre DTi engine, which delivers maximum power output of 316 kW between 1700 and 1900 rpm, and maximum torque of 2050 Nm from 1000 rpm to 1400 rpm, mated with an Optidriver AT 2612F direct drive gearbox with automatic clutch.

The new 32T plant body includes an electric 12,000lb remote control winch which allows it to operate without the engine running to save emissions, it also includes the Sterling trademark fold out handrail system to allow safe access along the side of wide machines when loading and unloading. Composite ‘Gridlock’ decking is fitted to the beavertail slope and ramps to aid traction. Much time was spent with Transport Manager Oliver Simson and Sterling’s Jarl James to tailor the specification to exactly suit the range of machines transported by Mr Plant Body. This includes positioning of the lashing rings, chain bars, storage and the deck surfaces on the different areas of the body.

The new investment continues a relationship with Sterling which dates back over the last decade. The whole project came together for a full reveal at Vertikal Days Exhibition 2022 at Peterborough Showground where the wraps were pulled of both Mr Plant Hire’s new investment and new branding.

Great to hear Olivers final approval;

“A few shout outs to Peter Thirkettle of Norfolk Truck & Van Limited offering a brilliant service as usual! Jarl James of Sterling Group for the amazing body and Alex Atanasova of AST for the wrap.”
