Sterling to Showcase Multiload Crane Truck at RTX Scotland 2026

Published on: 27th October 2026

Sterling is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo (RTX) Scotland 2026, taking place on 18th and 19th November at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow.

Visitors to Stand C91 will have the opportunity to take a closer look at a Sterling Multiload crane truck, mounted on a Volvo FH 8×2 32-tonne chassis, and speak directly with our team about the latest developments in beavertail plant body design and specification.

For businesses operating across plant and equipment hire, construction, utilities and haulage, RTX Scotland provides an ideal opportunity to explore transport solutions designed around the practical demands of day-to-day operations.

RTX Scotland: Bringing the Road Transport Industry Together

Following its inaugural event in 2025, RTX Scotland returns to Glasgow, bringing together commercial vehicle manufacturers, bodybuilders, suppliers and transport professionals from across the industry.

The two-day exhibition offers fleet operators, transport managers and drivers the opportunity to explore the latest commercial vehicles, technologies and equipment, while discussing the challenges and developments shaping the road transport sector.

With exhibitors covering everything from HGVs and trailers to vehicle safety, fleet management and specialist transport equipment, the event provides a valuable opportunity for businesses to assess new solutions and speak directly with industry specialists.

On Display: Sterling Multiload Crane Truck

Taking centre stage on the Sterling stand will be our Multiload crane-equipped beavertail plant body, mounted on a Volvo FH 8×2 32-tonne chassis.

Designed for operators requiring both lifting capability and plant transportation, the Multiload combines the versatility of a beavertail body with an integrated crane installation, providing a practical solution for businesses handling machinery, equipment and other demanding loads.

For operators working across construction, utilities, plant hire and specialist haulage, a crane-equipped beavertail can offer significant operational advantages, particularly when loading and unloading both tracked machinery and non-driven equipment, such as containers.

Unlike many cheesewedge crane truck bodies, the Sterling Multiload doesn’t compromise on ramp angles, ensuring easy and safe loading. This adaptability means our plant body can handle diverse tasks, and deliver maximum earning potential. Its outrigging build design – with crossmembers fitted directly off the crane’s subframe – provides a lower deck height, not only ensuring a shallow loading angle but also a safer, lower centre of gravity.

Visitors will be able to see the vehicle first-hand and discuss how different configurations can be tailored to their fleet requirements.

Throughout RTX Scotland, our team will be available to discuss:

  • Beavertail plant body options, including our Easiload, Combiload, Megaload Miniload, and Step Frame Trailers.
  • Chassis compatibility and vehicle specification, with solutions available across leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.
  • Crane-equipped transport solutions, including considerations around lifting requirements, payload and operational versatility.
  • Additional features and specification upgrades, from ramp configurations and towing to storage and decking options.

Whether you’re specifying a new vehicle, reviewing your existing fleet or considering a different approach to transporting machinery, we welcome the opportunity to discuss your requirements.
